BCN LEATHER
CHEMICALS

We have developed a program designed to reduce the environmental impact of
chemical use in our supply chain working in collaboration with our suppliers.

This program is based in the Zero Discharge Hazardous Chemicals “ ZDHC “
Roadmap and according it we are following the Manufacturing restricted
Substances list “ MRSL “ concerning the Leather production.

Our suppliers must to guarantee the compliance of the MRSL and confirm it by
the regular chemicals testing reports.

We don’t accept any order if the test report has been not issued before delivery
and some parameters are compulsory to comply as APEO, FORMALDEHIDE,
ARYLAMINES and CROMO VI.

We can guarantee to our customers the use of this program and provide them with the last chemical test
report provided for international labs like INTERTEK or SGS.

LABOUR AND HUMAN RIGHTS

We recognize our responsibility to respect and uphold human rights wherever it operates.

According this responsibility we monitored regularly our supply chain in order to identify potential human
rights risks that might arise during the production of our products.

We require all our supply chain partners, whether they are providing products or services, to agree with our
responsible Business Principles.

The Ethical trading Code of Conduct is underpinned by the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, and
the Fundamental Conventions of the International Labour Organization.

REDUCTION OF ENERGY AND WATER USE

The tanning industry is a big consumer of Water and Energy during his production processes.

We have launched several projects of technical cooperation with our providers with several objectives,
including:

1- Reduction of water consumption in the tanning process.
2- Elimination of the use of chromium in the tanning process.

The basic and most important objective is the elimination of the use
of hazardous chemicals in the tanning process in  2020.

To get it we are working with the guidelines contained in the MRSL
and discussed in the above section.
